THE PREDICTION
Fran Escriba’s appointment in February helped give Elche a boost and a platform to survive on the final day and now they will look to build upon that with some intriguing signings like Johan Mojica, Kiko Casilla and Pedro Bigas. They now come up against a Marcelino-led Athletic Club side that were extremely impressive and entertaining in the second-half of the season. They reached the Copa del Rey final and finished in the top-half with a much better style of play but the issue for the visitors, as ever, is their self-imposed restrictions in the transfer market due to the Cantera policy. They should remain the favourites ahead of this though.
