THE PREDICTION
This is the Marcelino derby between two sides trapped in the middle-of-the-table. Athletic’s presidential election this summer is likely to be followed by the departure of Marcelino, who has performed well during his tenure in the Basque country. They now come up against his former side who, under the management of Jose Bordalas, have underperformed so far this season. The Valencians shared a 1-1 draw in the derby against relegation-threatened Levante last weekend. They are winless in their last six matches in all competitions with just one win in eight. They have scored five goals in that poor run of form. A low-scoring home win is the expected outcome for this one.
