THE PREDICTION
The Valencia derby has quite a bit on it now. Valencia’s 3-0 away defeat to fellow underperformers Getafe last weekend means that Javi Gracia’s side remain in contention for a potential relegation. Although unlikely, Los Che continue to underwhelm and just look, for want of a better expression, simply bad. Often difficult to beat and stubborn but the likes of Soler, Guedes and Musah haven’t supplied Maxi Gomez with enough support to ensure Valencia’s top-flight survival; which should be a given. They come up against a Villarreal side in really poor form. A good performance against league leaders Atletico Madrid wasn’t enough as Emery’s men fell 2-0 to a classic Atleti-style result. They are still yet to win since their emphatic and simply wonderful 4-0 away victory at Celta in January. Their Europa League run has staved off some pressure on Emery but he must start winning soon. Given the poor runs of form and tension on both sides; a draw seems quite plausible for this one.
