THE PREDICTION
Levante look set to head into the derby match against Elche without key man Enis Bardhi who picked up an injury on international duty with North Macedonia. According to Rafa Esteve Pico in Superdeporte, the Frogs’ boss Paco Lopez could be set to start Jorge de Frutos instead. Bardhi has only contributed one assist so far this season for Levante but was key in their 12th placed finish last season contributing a goal or assist every three appearances on average. The home side benefited from impressive home wins last season over Villarreal and Real Betis as well as marquee victories over Real Madrid and Barcelona but are yet to win at Estadi Ciudad de Valencia this season. Newly-promoted Elche have found life quite comfortable back in Spain’s top flight. In their opening seven matches, they have won three and drawn two to leave them level on points with Barcelona, Valencia and Getafe, only three points off a European spot. Only league leaders Real Sociedad have had as many different goalscorers so far this season but with Josan being their top scorer on two goals, Los Franjiverdes are yet to establish a focal point in attack. With both sides averaging a goal per game, it doesn’t look set to be high scoring, Levante have drawn their last three matches by the same scoreline of 1-1 whilst Elche also drew 1-1 last time out, this one could end up being similar.
