THE PREDICTION
Elche come into this on the back of a spirited but ultimately indecisive performance away to Atletico Madrid on Saturday. A 3-1 defeat in which they were 2-1 down and pushing for an equaliser before a dubious penalty sealed their fate. It means they have lost back-to-back games now after just one defeat in 11 before that. Osasuna’s really poor form and season continued with a 3-1 defeat to the admittedly very impressive Villarreal. That defeat, in which Aridane Hernandez was sent-off, was their fourth consecutive loss and now means they away team are winless in seven. Their defensive collapse is something of note. In the opening six games of the season, they only conceded four whereas in their next seven they have conceded 16. Elche will fancy their chances of getting back on track are condemning their opponents to a fifth straight defeat.
