THE PREDICTION
Elche will be without the suspended Lucas Boye following his red card in their 1-1 draw away at Cadiz a fortnight ago. Elche are on the back of a 0-0 draw at Villarreal which was their fourth draw in a row. They remain unbeaten at home since the opening day in which they lost 3-0 to high-flying Real Sociedad. In only two other games, bar that one, have the newly promoted side had a match with more than two goals in it. They are up against a Granada side who were able to rest the likes of Darwin Machis, Yangel Herrera, Rui Silva and Domingos Duarte in midweek as they drew 0-0 away to PAOK Salonika in what was, essentially, a dead rubber. They’ve been woeful in the league recently and haven’t won in five. They were on course for a third consecutive 3-1 defeat last weekend against Huesca before scoring two late goals to draw 3-3. However, as they can now properly shift their focus back to La Liga, they will be favoured to squeeze past an Elche side in a game that is expected to be low-scoring.
