THE PREDICTION
Celta were defeated in their previous outing away to Real Madrid. It halted a truly impressive run of form since the appointment of Eduardo Coudet in late November. Five wins and a draw prior to that game has helped the Galicians climb into the top-half. They come up against a Villarreal side on the back of a 2-1 win over Levante in a Valencia derby. It came just after their second loss of the season away to Sevilla. Villarreal remain cagey and not extremely adventurous, especially for a side with legitimate ambitions of the top four; they have only scored more than two on three occasions in La Liga. However, their defence hasn’t necessarily been consistently getting clean sheets; they’ve kept scores down by only conceding a goal per game in their 17 fixtures but have only kept five clean sheets. Celta, similarly, haven’t been great at keeping clean sheets. In the aforementioned five victories in six games for Coudet, Celta picked up their first three clean sheets of the season. It is an extremely interesting game that should have chances for both sides and therefore both teams to score looks a reasonable bet.
