THE PREDICTION
Euskal Derbia; the Basque derby between Athletic and La Real - one of the biggest matches in Spain. It won’t be the most important derby between the two this season. They were supposed to meet in the 2020 Copa Del Rey final but both sides agreed the game wouldn’t be played if supporters were unable to attend due to the pandemic. The game is set to, hopefully, be played towards the end of the 2020/21 season. Athletic come into this on the back of a few good performances. Well earned draws away to Valencia and Villarreal and a defeat to Real Madrid were all good displays but a 2-0 win over Huesca gave reason for concern as they relied on a Huesca red card and two late goals to bet a lowly side. La Real are in horrific form. An electric start, infused and encouraged by David Silva and Mikel Oyarzabal, has drifted very badly as Europa League commitments take hold and the aforementioned stars got injured. Silva is a possibility for this game, though. Both teams to score looks a good bet as Athletic have had seven games in which that has happened as well as Real Sociedad’s seven.
