THE PREDICTION
Athletic Club: a very strong off-the-pitch identity but an unknown identity on it. An inconsistency in the results that is mirrored within their games with an inability to be cohesive in defence or attack - or even when to defend or attack. They were one of four sides to play in midweek as they lost 3-1 away at Real Madrid. The Basque side equalised against Real after 52 minutes despite being down to 10-men but Madrid eventually overcame them with a fairly late Benzema brace. That defeat now means Athletic are four without a win since their 4-0 hammering of Real Betis just after the November international break. They are up against, arguably, the most unfortunate side in La Liga this season. Since the very early weeks of the season, newly-promoted Huesca have drawn much sympathy for a fairly pleasing style but, mainly, a lack of luck in terms of results. Their inability to win a game fell to comical standards as they threw away a 3-1 lead in the 88th minute away to Granada a fortnight ago. However, at the thirteenth attempt, they won last week against Alaves. Their lack of luck has been shown by the ‘loss’ column in the La Liga table. Huesca, despite being 19th, have lost the least amount of games in the bottom nine - only the top four (Villarreal, Real Madrid, Real Sociedad and Atletico Madrid) have lost less games. A draw would be predictable but risky for a bet, however, both teams to score seems reasonable as Athletic have a habit of conceding whilst Huesca come into this in a confident mood.
