THE PREDICTION
Athletic backed up an impressive 4-0 victory at home to Real Betis with a tidy 1-1 draw away to Getafe. The Basque side’s unpredictability this season has required two good performances back-to-back which they have now produced. They will be looking to make that a third good performance against a Celta side who have also improved. The Galicians managed to collect their first three points of the season against Granada with two late goals edging them ahead 3-1 after a well-organised display. The signs of improvement were there the week before as they went down 4-2 at Sevilla. That is five goals in their last two games and Iago Aspas has only scored one of them; this is a dramatic improvement on a ratio that has been unhelpful in the last few weeks. Athletic will look to that Celta win as a one-off and go at the away side like they did against Betis but that should allow the likes of Denis Suarez, Nolito, Iago Aspas and Santi Mina to attack. A high-scoring away win would suit the unpredictability of Athletic but the home side’s recent improvement, as well as Celta, would suggest a draw is the more likely outcome.
