Following promotion last season, Rio Ave started the season slowly but have improved quickly and greatly. The home team come into this on the back of a 1-1 draw away to fellow newly-promoted side Chaves last weekend after they had beaten reigning champions Porto by three goals to one in late August. They now face a Braga side that, under the management of Artur Jorge, have been very impressive so far this season. The visitors have won four and drawn one of their opening five matches and they will be firm favourites for this one.
