Maritimo were knocked out of the Taca da Liga by Boavista two weeks ago to put a bad first shift into their new campaign and they face a tough opening league match here against Sporting Braga. The visitors were emphatic in much of last season and won the Taca da Portugal whilst challenging for the Primeira Liga title right up until the last few rounds. They lost 2-1 to Sporting Lisbon in the Super Cup last Saturday after taking the lead but they will be aiming to be there or thereabouts again this season and this first game back looks fairly comfortable.
