Porto’s first hiccup of the Primeira Liga season has come early this year with a disappointing 1-1 draw at Maritimo last Sunday. They should be able to rectify that result with a solid win at home today against newly-promoted Arouca but they will know they cannot afford many more slip-ups with Lisbon rivals Sporting’s unbeaten run to the title last season setting a high bar. Visiting Arouca will be up for the challenge here after claiming their first win in the top flight since 2017 as they beat Famalicao 2-1 at home last Friday. Porto have kept just one clean sheet from their three matches so far. In normal service this would look like a solid win to nil for the hosts but given last weekend’s action take Porto as the outright winners here.
