After winning their first Portuguese Primeira Liga title in 18 years, Sporting Lisbon finally had their unbeaten run come to an end in a crazy 4-3 defeat at Benfica on Saturday. Fans are unlikely to care too strongly about the record after so long without a title but they will be expecting better service at home to Maritimo in this dead rubber game. The visitors just squeaked over the line with back-to-back draws at Pacos de Ferreira and at home to Vitoria Guimaraes but four wins from their last eight and just two defeats in that time saved their season.
