THE PREDICTION
Sporting return to action after lockdown in fine form and the change in manager clearly led to an upturn in form for them. While they ended the season with defeats to Porto and Benfica, they were playing much better and that will give them optimism for the start of the new campaign. They blooded some of their youngsters towards the end of the season and there were some excellent performances so combined with some experienced players joining in the off-season, they have some good options for this season. They welcome Gil Vicente who have made plenty of new signings but have been shopping in the bargain basement once again. They should be able to achieve a mid-table position this time around again but it may take time for them to settle and Sporting should ease to victory here by a couple of goals.
