THE PREDICTION
Monterrey maintained their unbeaten start to the league season with a hard-fought 1-1 draw away at high-flying Mazatlan last time out whilst Pachuca were beaten 0-1 by Atlas this past Tuesday, their second successive Liga MX defeat. Their usual cutting edge going forward evaded them and it’s vital that they rediscover it quickly, otherwise they are set to struggle at Estadio BBVA. Although Monterrey have scored in each of their three league games so far, they have kept just one clean sheet and against a visiting side with six goals to their name already, this could lead to goals on both sides if their defence is not on top form. Both teams to score is worth considering, but in terms of the match outcome itself, Monterrey should do enough to edge this one with home advantage in their favour.
