At the start of last week, Sassuolo took what many saw as a long overdue decision to sack their manager, Alessio Dionisi, due to a loss against his former club, Empoli. A few days later, without a permanent boss in charge, they were then thrashed by the underperforming defending champions Napoli by six goals to one.
Since then, Sassuolo have decided to appoint Davide Ballardini but his stint in charge began poorly as Sassuolo were beaten 1-0 by fellow strugglers Hellas Verona at the Bentegodi last weekend with a 79th minute winning goal from Karol Swiderski. Sassuolo now sit firmly in the bottom three and the relegation places ahead of this weekend.
FROSINONE
Following their promotion to Serie A last season, Frosinone took the surprising decision to replace Fabio Grosso, who then went on to be sacked by Olympique Lyonnais earlier on in this campaign, and he was replaced by former Roma boss to implement an attacking and entertaining style of football as they attempt to battle against relegation.
They have indeed been entertaining to watch so far this season with their 27 matches thus far consisting of 91 goals with 35 scored and 56 conceded but their form has been poor recently. The Romans come into this one on the back of a frustrating 1-1 draw at home to Lecce last weekend, ending a four-match losing streak in Serie A.
