Italian Serie A Table – TSZ's Predicted Top Seven
As we count down to the start of a new Serie A campaign, TSZ assesses the anticipated challengers for both the coveted Scudetto and a place in Europe the following season, picking out those clubs expected to be challenging and who we think will eventually finish in the top seven.
*Note that these are solely our predictions.
ITALIAN SERIE A TOP SEVEN
1. Inter Milan
2. Juventus
3. AC Milan
4. AS Roma
5. Lazio
6. Napoli
7. Fiorentina
AC Milan may well be moved to prioritise a run into the latter stages of the UEFA Champions League, as a seeded side following their title win last season, so, with an inexperienced squad, could be expected to drop off. Juve will remain a team that believes winning is the only thing that matters but that can often lead to a cartoon-ish resistance to progressive and, frankly, more efficient modern-day football.
The champions of 2021 may have lost Antonio Conte, Achraf Hakimi and Romelu Lukaku, but they have since regained the latter. The return of the Lautaro-Lukaku partnership should see Inter back at the top. The other major story could, and probably should, be Jose Mourinho managing a front two of Paulo Dybala and Tammy Abraham back into the UEFA Champions League.
