THE LOWDOWN

FROSINONE

Immediately after gaining promotion to the top-flight last season, Frosinone decided to part company with Fabio Grosso and replace him with former Roma boss Eusebio Di Francesco with the intention being to implement a fast flowing style of football that would be able to adapt to the top-flight of Italian football.

It has most definitely been open and entertaining to watch with Frosinone’s 30 matches so far this season consisting of 99 goals. Di Francesco remains in charge but is under pressure as they hover just above the bottom three and the relegation places with no victory in their last nine Serie A matches.

BOLOGNA

Coached by former AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Thiago Motta, Bologna have performed magnificently well as they begin the weekend’s round of fixtures tucked inside the top four and confident of UEFA Champions League qualification, playing their own easy on the eye style of football.

The home team come into this one on the back of dispatching Salernitana by three goals to nil in their most recent outing on Easter Monday with goals from Riccardo Orsolini, Alexis Saelemaekers and Charalampos Lykogiannis. They have now won eight of their last nine matches with the only game they didn’t coming against champions-elect Internazionale.

THE PREDICTION

These are two more proactive and attacking teams in Serie A this season but to two very different levels of effectiveness and efficiency. Frosinone are very much entertainers in Italy but will be expected to be in the battle against the drop until the very end of the campaign. They now face a Bologna side that have been impressive ever since Motta’s appointment early last season. Both teams scoring seems a good bet but Bologna are favourites.

TIP: BOLOGNA TO WIN & BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE
