Fiorentina will need to pick themselves up after suffering heartbreak in the Coppa Italia final during the week. In their clash with Inter Milan, Fiorentina made a dream start as Nicolas Gonzalez put them ahead with just three minutes on the clock but a brace from Lautaro Martinez turned the game around and Fiorentina were unable to respond.
It was a disappointing outcome for Fiorentina but they have another final to look forward to with West Ham their opponents in the upcoming UEFA Europa Conference League showpiece. They will look to bounce back here and in Serie A, they have lost just one of their last five matches.
Going back even further, it is just two losses in 14 league games for Fiorentina while they are unbeaten in their last seven games on home soil in Serie A so this is a great chance for them to bounce back as they aim to extend their unbeaten home record to eight ahead of next season.
ROMA
Roma have now drawn their last three matches in all competitions after playing out a 2-2 draw with Salernitana. Jose Mourinho’s side showed some character to fight back twice to level the scores after Antonio Candreva had given the away side the lead before Stephan El Shaarawy’s equaliser was then followed up with Boulaye Dia putting Salernitana back in front.
Roma kept pushing for a leveller and they got their just desserts as Nemanja Matic’s effort seven minutes from time secured a point. They now head on the road as they aim to build some momentum ahead of the UEFA Europa League final but could find it tough going here.
It is no win in five matches away from home in all competitions for Roma while they have won just one of their last 12 games on the road. They have struggled for goals on their travels but have kept clean sheets in their last two.
THE PREDICTION
Roma’s Serie A form will be a concern and if they fail to win the UEFA Europa League final, they could miss out on Europe altogether next season. They started the penultimate round of fixtures in sixth spot and have Juventus in close proximity. It is no win in six Serie A games for Roma while Fiorentina have lost just one of their last five so the hosts will fancy their chances. Roma will probably look to keep things tight here and that could result in a low-scoring game but Fiorentina are fancied to avoid defeat regardless.
