Under the management of Vincenzo Italiano, Fiorentina have enjoyed a really impressive season as they try to replicate but go a couple of steps further than last year where they finished as runners’ up in both the Coppa Italia and the UEFA Europa Conference League. They are already a goal up on aggregate against Atalanta in the semi-final of their Coppa Italia tie.
In the UEFA Europa Conference League quarter-finals, they shared a goalless draw with Viktoria Plzen in the Czech Republic the other day with the second-leg at the Artemio Franchi coming up this week. They have underperformed in Serie A so far this season, though, as they sit firmly in the middle-of-the-table.
GENOA
After gaining promotion to Serie A last season, Genoa embarked upon a summer transfer window under the controversial ownership of 777 Partners. They are an ambitious side based on that and, coached by 2006 FIFA World Cup winner Alberto Gilardino, will be potentially aiming for a top-half finish this season.
The visitors come into this one on the back of a 2-1 defeat of Hellas Verona in their most recent outing at the Marcantonio Bentegodi last weekend. They went behind in that game via an eighth minute goal scored by Federico Bonazzoli before Caleb Ekuban and Albert Gudmundsson turned the game on its head.

We could have a value bet in this one. Fiorentina have not been convincing for a while now, even though they have progressed in both of the cup competitions that they are in. I Viola have been underwhelming in the league and will also be focused on that aforementioned second-leg against Viktoria Plzen. Genoa have become a lot more difficult to beat as the season has gone on and a double chance bet in favour of the Genovese would appear a decent bet or this one.
