Empoli’s late run of form has ensured that they will not avoid the drop with them managing to earn another positive result in their most recent outing against Verona.

Empoli held their opponents to a draw on the road but they left it extremely late to claim a point. Verona were leading deep into stoppage time but in the sixth minute of added on time, a Giangiacomo Magnani own goal ensured they returned home with a draw to their name.

That is now five games without a loss for Empoli while they have lost just one of their last five on home soil with their last three ending in victory which stands them in good stead for this encounter.

LAZIO

Lazio made it back-to-back wins as they claimed a late winner in their clash with Cremonese. Elseid Hysaj and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic had given Lazio a 2-0 lead at the break but they were pegged back before the hour mark.

This is an intriguing contest to finish the season for both Empoli and Lazio. The pair each have reasons to believe that they can prevail having done well of late. That makes this a tough game to call and while it could be quite an open game, it would not be a surprise to see the teams share the spoils.
