Cremonese suffered a third loss in succession as they went down to Lazio last week and the already-relegated side will be desperate to end the season on a high as they play host to Salernitana.
Cremonese found themselves two goals down at half-time and while they were able to level the scores before the hour mark through Pablo Galdames and an own goal from Manuel Lazzari, a late winner for Lazio was a real dagger to the heart.
That disappointment may still be lingering and difficult to bounce back from but on a positive note, they have lost just one of their last four home matches in Serie A.
SALERNITANA
Salernitana could barely have asked for a better end to the season as they earned yet another positive result last time out. They have emphatically avoided relegation owing to their recent run with a 3-2 success against Udinese seeing them move to 42 points.
Even more impressive was the fact that they fought back from two goals down in that contest with Udinese. Gregoris Kastanos halved the deficit just before the break before Antonio Candreva levelled the scores but the turnaround was not complete until deep into stoppage time when William Troost-Ekong claimed the dramatic winner.
That is now three games without a loss for Salernitana while they have lost just one of their last 14. That incredible run has turned their season around in a brilliant way and they will be full of confidence here despite failing to win any of their last seven on the road with only one of those ending in defeat.
THE PREDICTION
These two teams are ending the campaign in very different moods and it could be evident as they do battle here. Cremonese will be playing in Serie B next season and could have been joined by Salernitana had it not been for an incredible run of form. The visitors have lost just one of their last 14 and that record is difficult to ignore here with another positive result on the cards to wrap up an exceptional second half of the season.
