THE PREDICTION
Simone Inzaghi’s Inter Milan haven’t necessarily been written off in pre-season but, as a defending champion, they aren't that heavily fancied. The loss of Conte, Hakimi and Lukaku will hurt them and off-field issues are causing distress but a good team remains in place and Inzaghi’s 3-5-2 system that he deployed at Lazio means little upheaval in terms of the playing style will be needed. They come up against a Genoa side that have, as ever, done a lot of transfer business this summer but not much stands out aside from the loan signing of Hernani from Parma and European Championships winner Salvatorie Sirigu. Despite that summer of madness for Inter, they will come into this as the favourites.
