THE PREDICTION

The Netherlands face Mexico in what is Frank de Boer’s first match in charge since he took over from Ronald Koeman, and the new coach has expressed his dissatisfaction that his team have to play this friendly fixture before their important UEFA Nations League double-header against Bosnia and Herzegovina and Italy. This is likely to mean that De Boer opts to leave out a number of the players who he considers first-choice and it’s hard to see the Dutch being well-motivated for this game. Mexico are more likely to relish the opportunity to get some match action as they don’t have any competitive fixtures this month and they are staying in the Netherlands after this match to play a friendly against Algeria. The visitors have some decent players in their squad and look capable of claiming at least a draw and the odds for Mexico draw no bet are appealing.
