THE PREDICTION
These are two sides that have strong, developing sides but both have underperformed in the last 12-18 months recently. Tata Martino’s Mexico come into this on the back of a goalless draw at home to Guatemala, with a very different squad, in late-April. El Tri remain a strong team in terms of personnel, despite indifferent performances and results. They now come up against a Nigeria side that were knocked out of CAF 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification by Ghana in the playoffs in March. A draw would appear the likeliest outcome for this one between two relatively evenly matched sides.
