THE PREDICTION
France surprised everyone in their opening World Cup European Qualifier after being held to a 1-1 draw at home to Ukraine, despite boasting a plethora of footballing stars within their squad. Such a result will have not been fondly looked upon by French supporters, along with manager Didier Deschamps and a response will be expected from the reigning World Champions away vs Kazakhstan. September 2020 was the last time the hosts won a competitive international fixture, with Kazakhstan having drawn one and lost four of their last five games since then, all in the UEFA Nations League. Whilst France may have a little physical fatigue to contend with when taking into account the short turnaround of fixtures combined with the long journey to Kazakhstan, that will prove no excuse when taking into account the standard of their squad and anything less than a comprehensive away victory by at least two clear goals alongside a clean sheet would be considered a disappointment for them.
