Austria were twice pegged back by Scotland in their opening Group F encounter and were ultimately forced to settle for a 2-2 draw against Steve Clarke’s side. With a two-point gap now between them and group leaders Denmark, it is vital that Austria pick up their first World Cup European Qualifier win against Faroe Islands. The gap in quality between these two squads is big, although the visitors can take heart from their 1-1 draw away at Moldova. However, an away tie against Austria represents a much tougher challenge and one that they are unlikely to overcome.
