THE PREDICTION
The lack of Luis Suarez and Edinson Cavani didn’t pose too many problems for Oscar Taberez’s Uruguayans at the weekend. A 4-2 win over Bolivia looks and sounds good but it must be remembered that Bolivia remain perennially one of, if not the, worst side in CONMEBOL. Ecuador, on the other hand, have been more convincing despite a goalless draw at home to Chile a few days ago. A 63rd minute red card for winger Junior Sornoza halted what had been a relatively dominant performance from Ecuador but they managed to see the rest of the game out. That backed up a 2-0 win over Paraguay last week. These two come into the game separated by one point and both look in a strong position for qualification. Given that, a draw would be the way to go for this one as they seem evenly matched and the more in-form of the two are the visitors.
