THE PREDICTION
Republic of Ireland face a tough challenge here to make it to the play-off final as they face a Slovakia side who are traditionally strong at home. The hosts have lost just three times in their last 16 matches on home turf but their more recent general form is not as impressive as they have recorded just one win in their last six matches so that will give Republic of Ireland manager Stephen Kenny – who is still awaiting his first win in the hot seat – some hope of progression. A scrappy game is expected here and there is unlikely to be a lot of goalmouth action so a low-scoring draw after 90 minutes is the prediction.
