THE PREDICTION
Benin’s excellent record at home was a major reason why they qualified for the 2019 AFCON finals - they claimed three wins from three home games, which included a 1-0 victory against the eventual champions Algeria. Results on their own patch will again play a big part in determining their fate this time around too. Having already registered a 1-0 win against Sierra Leone in Benin last November they now have a good chance to make it back-to-back wins against the lowest-ranked team in the group. Lesotho’s away record in AFCON qualifying matches does not make good reading as they have drawn four and lost 12 of their last 16 games. Even more concerning for the visitors is the fact that they have scored a meagre total of just three goals during this period. Benin have won to nil in three of their last four home qualifying matches and another shutout victory looks to be on the cards here too.
