NorthEast United successfully reached the play-offs after finishing third-place in last season’s Indian Super League, however ATK Mohun Bagan proved too strong for them in the semi-finals. Bengaluru had a less successful campaign and to rectify that in 2021-22 have brought in a new head coach, German Marco Pezzaiuoli.
