THE PREDICTION

After suffering their first defeat of this season’s Bundesliga last time out against Hoffenheim, Wolfsburg were further frustrated in midweek after a controversial penalty decision saw them concede late on to Spanish side Sevilla, forcing them to settle for a 1-1 draw in the Champions League. Here, they host Borussia Monchengladbach, who are riding the crest of a wave following their excellent 1-0 victory over Dortmund this past weekend. It could well be a case of the increased intensity of the Wolfsburg schedule starting to affect their players physically that is causing their turn of results and Monchengladbach, who are likely to deploy a cautious strategy from the start could grow into this game as it goes on and Wolfsburg inevitably tire. With that in mind, backing the visitors via the double chance market is well worth considering as Adi Hutter’s side are more than capable of picking up at least a point in this one.
