THE PREDICTION

Union Berlin will have been very happy to have such an extended break after picking up just a point from their last three Bundesliga fixtures, which has slightly spoiled what had been a memorable first half of the season. The expectation is that the Union Berlin which stunned everyone as they rose to the top of the Bundesliga will be the side we see post winter break, but Hoffenheim may have something to say about that. It’s been an inconsistent season for them and they lie in mid-table, but with just one point from the last 15 available to them. Whilst an improved showing from Hoffenheim is likely, especially with the players at their disposal, Union Berlin should still be backed to come out on top with home advantage in their favour.
