THE PREDICTION

To say it has been a nightmare last two weeks for RB Leipzig would be a massive understatement. Not only were they knocked out of the Europa League by Scottish side Rangers at the semi-final stage, consecutive defeats in the Bundesliga after having previously gone unbeaten in nine league matches has seen them bumped from fourth-place by Freiburg, leaving their hopes of Champions League qualification hanging by a threat. By the time Domenico Tedesco’s men kick-off against Augsburg, they will know whether a win will take them back into the top four or not, but either way another slip-up is unthinkable from their perspective. This encounter will prove a huge test of Leipzig’s mental strength following such a dramatic series of setbacks and the home crowd will no doubt try and play a part in rallying their players. Facing a team who have lost three of their last four and on the back of conceding four against Koln, the hosts should have enough firepower to edge past Augsburg, but only back them via the draw no bet when factoring in their recent nosedive.
