THE PREDICTION

Hoffenheim gave a good account of themselves last time out away at Dortmund and thought they’d gained a late equaliser, only for Marco Rose’s side to go up the other end and score themselves in stoppage time to consign Hoffenheim to a 3-2 defeat. Sebastian Hoeness’s men return to the PreZero Arena here knowing that they can leapfrog opponents Mainz with victory here. That should serve as motivation for them to continue enforcing their ultra-attacking style of play, which has seen them already score eight goals in this season’s Bundesliga. However, such a strategy could lead to clear-cut chances at both ends of the pitch, with Mainz looking to take advantage of extra space afforded to them inside the opposition half. With that in mind, backing both teams to score stands out as a shrewd play here.
