THE PREDICTION

The Mainz squad are likely still on a high following their stunning 3-1 triumph away to second-placed Borussia Dortmund, but face a far different challenge here. Hertha’s upturn in results under Felix Magath has left them tantalisingly close to safety and seven points from their last three means that another win against Mainz would guarantee their safety. The home side will no doubt cover every inch of the field across 90 minutes, committing themselves fully to every tackle and press which should lead to them seeing plenty of the ball. Add that to Hertha’s home support, who will no doubt create a hostile atmosphere for the visitors and all the foundations are in place for Magath’s men to accrue at least a point if not all three. Utilise the double chance market and back Hertha to gain either a win or a draw from this one.
