EINTRACHT FRANKFURT PREVIEW: INSIDE EUROPEAN PLACES AFTER THREE ROUNDS OF GAMES
Eintracht Frankfurt’s 2-0 loss away at Borussia Dortmund to start the season seems a long time ago now. Since then, Dino Toppmoller’s side have secured wins over both Hoffenheim and Wolfsburg respectively, putting them on six points from three matches, good enough for sixth-place in the table.
Frankfurt’s last home fixture saw them rack up three goals in their win over Hoffenheim, with two of those goals coming in the first half. The hosts will no doubt want to set the tone early on by coming out of the blocks quickly and starting strongly.
BORUSSIA MONCHENGLADBACH PREVIEW: STUTTGART TOO STRONG FOR GLADBACH, KEEPING THEM ON THREE POINTS
Borussia Monchengladbach were unable to back up an impressive 0-2 win away at struggling Bochum, losing on the following weekend against Stuttgart. The offensive nature of Sebastian Hoeness’ men was too much for the Gladbach backline to handle and in the end, Champions League Stuttgart ended up 1-3 winners.
Alassane Plea had equalised for the hosts following Deniz Undav’s opener, but Stuttgart took control in the second half thanks to a quick brace from Ermedin Demirovic, which sealed the points and sent Gladbach back to the drawing board.
EINTRACHT FRANKFURT TEAM NEWS: EKITIKE AND MARMOUSH TO START TOGETHER
At home, the expectation is that Hugo Ekitike and Omar Marmoush will play together in a front two as Eintracht deploy an attacking style of play. Brazilian Kaua Santos will play in the absence of first-choice goalkeeper and captain Kevin Trapp.
PREDICTED XI: (4-4-2): Kaua Santos; Kristensen, Tuta, Koch, Theate; Chaibi, Skhiri, Larsson, Nkounkou; Ekitike, Marmoush
UNAVAILABLE: Hojlund (Injured), Loune (Injured), Trapp (Injured)
QUESTIONABLE: Gotze (Injured)
BORUSSIA MONCHENGLADBACH TEAM NEWS: FIRST-CHOICE GOALKEEPER MISSING
Regular Gladbach goalkeeper Jonas Omlin has suffered a calf injury and won’t be available for the trip to Frankfurt, meaning that Moritz Nicolas will deputise between the sticks. Winger Franck Honorat is also out with a calf problem.
PREDICTED XI: (4-2-3-1): Nicolas; Scally, Itakura, Elvedi, Netz; Sander, Weigl; Ngoumou, Stoger, Plea; Kleindienst
UNAVAILABLE: Omlin (Injured)
QUESTIONABLE: Honorat (Injured)
EINTRACHT FRANKFURT VS BORUSSIA MONCHENGLADBACH PREDICTION
Although they may have come out on the wrong end of the result against Borussia Dortmund back on the opening weekend, Eintracht Frankfurt have shown the quality they possess within their squad so far and consecutive Bundesliga wins have been testament to that. Confidence is clearly high and they are looking to ride that momentum moving forwards.
Borussia Monchengladbach will no doubt pose a significant challenge and this match is expected to be a close one when consideration that Gladbach have found the net at least once in all their games played so far in 2024-25. But with home advantage in their favour, it’s worth backing Eintracht to win, albeit via the draw no bet market for extra security.
