THE PREDICTION
Freiburg were one of the real success stories of last season and the only disappointment was that they could not end the campaign with a DFB-Pokal win, after losing in dramatic fashion to RB Leipzig. However, Christian Streich and his players did secure Europa League football with a sixth-place finish in the Bundesliga and will be ready to go again here against an Augsburg side who could only a 14th-placed finish in comparison. When comparing the two squads, Freiburg do look the superior outfit and Streich’s excellent coaching should see them up the right end of the table again this time round. Freiburg should do enough to gain three points in this one, although with them playing away from home, the safer play would be to back Freiburg via the draw no bet market.
