THE PREDICTION
It has not been plain sailing for Borussia Dortmund at the start of
this new season and they have now lost three of their last four matches
in all competitions after they were defeated by Lazio in their midweek
Champions League clash. Their defensive issues were laid bare in that
clash and they will be desperate to improve in that area as they take on
Schalke 04 in this Revierderby. Schalke ended their six-match losing
streak dating back to last season in the league as they earned a point
against Union Berlin last week but that means their winless run now
stands at 20 Bundesliga matches. Despite Dortmund’s issues, they have
still won three of their four league matches so far and coupled with
Schalke’s ongoing problems, it is difficult to see beyond the hosts
winning this one comfortably with the margin likely to be at least two
clear goals.
