THE PREDICTION
The most anticipated contest of this season’s Bundesliga thus far is upon us as Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich lock horns in the second ‘Der Klassiker’ of the campaign. The first contest between these two sides did not disappoint as domestic league and cup champions Bayern overcame BVB 3-2 in the Super Cup. The game however is likely to prove a cagier affair, with Dortmund having established themselves a strong defensive unit, having not conceded a goal in their last four matches in all competitions. Since victory in the Super Cup, Bayern have won their last eight games in all competitions, but Hansi Flick’s side have not faced a challenge like this one before and may set up more defensively away from home, knowing the threat posed by the likes of Erling Braut Haaland and Thorgan Hazard for BVB. With both sides locked on 15 points and fatigue possibly proving a factor after both teams competed away from home in Europe midweek, we feel it wise to consider under 2.5 goals being scored in this game.
