THE PREDICTION

Paderborn’s thumping 0-3 victory away at Dynamo Dresden last time out has well and truly established as a team expected to be right within the promotion mix throughout the rest of season as they extended their winning run in the 2. Bundesliga to three games. A home clash with Schalke 04 however, offers another test of those credentials. Relegated last season, Schalke are still yet to fully adapt at this level, however a 3-1 win over Fortuna Dusseldorf provided the ideal response to their 4-1 thrashing at the hands of Jahn Regensburg. With strike-pairing Simon Terodde and Marius Bulter showing great chemistry against Fortuna, this bodes well for the offensive game of the visitors at Benteler-Arena. Paderborn themselves represent a force going forward and have scored at least once in each of their league matches since the opening weekend of the season. All signs point to over 2.5 goals in this one for what would be the fifth straight fixture involving Paderborn in all competitions and the third straight match involving Schalke.
