THE PREDICTION

Darmstadt 98 will be aiming to build on their seventh-place finish last season as they bid to mount a genuine promotion challenge this season. Getting off to a good start at home to Jahn Regensburg will be important, however the hosts are without a large number of players due to both injuries and Covid-19 and their defensive frailties of last season could emerge having conceded the third highest number of goals of the 15 sides who finished outside the bottom three. Therefore, Jahn Regensburg may look to adopt a slightly more offensive gameplan despite being away from home as they look to take advantage. Having said that, it would be a surprise if Darmstadt weren’t to find the net on their own patch and both teams to score looks a shrewd play here.
