Whether or not these two can battle for a top six finish again like they did last season will probably be dependant on their depth with European competition affecting their seasons this time around. Rennes have brought in the interesting £13.5 million signing of Kamaldeen Sulemana from Nordsjaelland and Birger Meling from Nimes. However, the main talking point will be Loic Bade’s debut following his £15 million move from their opponents Lens. Lens have reinvested that money relatively impressively but it is impossible to deny that Bade will be a loss.
