MONTPELLIER
Montpellier secured a solid win on the road last week as they ran out comfortable 0-3 victors against relegation-threatened Nantes. After failing to win either of their prior two matches, it was a relief for Montpellier to get back to winning ways and they will be eager to match that effort in their final game of the season on home soil.
Jordan Ferri gave Montpellier the lead in the 38th minute before Arnaud Nordin’s goal just after the break doubled their lead. They were comfortable at that scoreline but there was more joy to come as Falaya Sacko rounded off the win late in the contest.
It is now just one loss in five for Montpellier while their home form reads even better. They have lost just one of their last seven games on home soil with four of those ending in victory.
NICE
Nice could not be separated in their clash with Toulouse last time out as the two teams played out a goalless draw. Nice will feel they had the better of the game and chances in front of goal but it was not to be as they had to settle for a point.
They sit comfortable in mid-table and will be aiming for a top 10 finish, although there are a clutch of teams in and around them that could cause them to drop out of the top half if they are not careful in their final couple of matches this season.
They have struggled on the road of late having won just one of their last six in all competitions. That success came against a relegated Troyes outfit and that record away from home could be difficult for them to improve on.
THE PREDICTION
Montpellier got back to winning ways last time out and they will be confident of making it back-to-back victories as they host Nice. The visiots have managed just one win in their last five Ligue 1 matches away from home and with Montpellier losing just one of their last seven on home soil, the signs are there that the hosts can come out on top once again.
