MONACO PREVIEW: NEED A RESPONSE
Under the management of former Borussia Monchengladbach boss Adi Hutter, Monaco have been fascinating and thrilling to watch. They finished as runners’ up last season and are beginning this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting second in the table once again, despite heading into the October international break at the top-of-the-table.
The Monagasque come into this one on the back of a 2-1 defeat at the Allianz Arena against Nice last weekend in a game in which they did take the lead but Vanderson’s red card did not help as Evann Guessand Gaetan Laborde turned the game on its head. That followed a goalless draw with Lille at Stade Louis II the week before.
ANGERS PREVIEW: ANGERED ANGERS
Following promotion to the top-flight last season, Angers have endured a difficult start to the campaign but they now begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting just outside of the bottom three and the danger zone after becoming the last team to get their first win of the Ligue 1 campaign last weekend.
After starting the season with four draws and four defeats, Angers then faced fellow newly-promoted side Saint-Etienne at Stade Raymond Kopa last weekend. They went 1-0 up before being pegged back, got 2-1 up before being pegged back and then managed to get the victory via second-half strikes from Ibrahima Niane and Bamba Dieng.
MONACO TEAM NEWS: DEFENSIVE ISSUES
As mentioned, Vanderson received a red card at the weekend and he remains sidelined for the Monagasque alongside former PSV Eindhoven defender Jordan Teze due to suspension.
Former Southampton centre-back Mohammed Salisu is also unavailable for the hosts with both Edan Diop and Folarin Balogun still missing through injury for this one.
PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Majecki; Mawissa, Singo, Kehrer, Caio Henrique; Camara, Magassa; Akliouche, Minamino, Golovin; Embolo
UNAVAILABLE: Teze (Suspended), Vanderson (Suspended), Salisu (Injured), Diop (Injured), Balogun (Injured)

MONACO VS ANGERS PREDICTION
The last few weeks have brought these teams closer together than they were but it remains, at least on paper, a complete mis-match with Monaco surely expected to win comfortably. Their performances haven’t necessarily dipped but one point from two matches has given up ground on PSG. Angers have been difficult to beat throughout the campaign and have now finally won but Monaco are still expected to win this well at Stade Louis II.
