THE LOWDOWN

LILLE

Coached by former Roma and Shakhtar Donetsk boss Paulo Fonseca, Lille have had an extremely enjoyable campaign as they launch themselves towards the top three and the UEFA Champions League qualification spots. The northerners, despite their easy on the eye style of football, have kept 20 clean sheets in 32 matches so far this season.

They do, though, come into this one on the back of a frustrating defeat, albeit against the defending champions and runaway league leaders. They did take a sixth minute lead at the Parc des Princes against Paris Saint-Germain last weekend via Yusuf Yazici but goals from Goncalo Ramos and Randal Kolo Muani either side of an Alexsandro own goal condemned Lille to a loss.

LE HAVRE

Following promotion to the top-flight for the first time in over 15 years last season, Le Havre have enjoyed a relatively impressive campaign that leaves them sitting in mid-table ahead of this one. However, they are heavily reliant on a strong defensive record so will be concerned about running out of steam in the final few months of the campaign.

The visitors come into this one on the back of a 1-0 loss at home to Stade Rennais in their most recent outing with a winning goal from Benjamin Bourigeaud in the 60th minute. Le Havre have now managed just three wins in their last eight matches across all competitions with two of those victories coming against lower league opposition in the Coupe de France.

THE TEAM NEWS

LILLE

Lille have a fair few injury concerns for this weekend’s visit of Le Havre as Samuel Umtiti and Bafode Diakite are both unavailable, whilst Ivan Cavaleiro is injured.

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Chevalier; Santos, Yoro, Alexsandro, Ismaily; Bentaleb, Andre; Zhegrova, Gomes, Gudmundsson; Yazici

UNAVAILABLE: Ilic (Injured), Umtiti (Injured), Cavaleiro (Injured), Diakite (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE:

LE HAVRE

Oussama Targhalline is the only injury absentee for this weekend with the Moroccan unavailable and they are to name an unchanged side for this one.

PREDICTED XI (4-4-2): Desmas; Sangante, Kinkoue, Lloris, Operi; Nego, Toure, Kechta, Sabbi; Casimir, Bayo

UNAVAILABLE: Targhalline (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE:

THE PREDICTION

This one has the potential to be quite a one-sided affair between two teams with different ambitions for the rest of the season. They have both overperformed, or at least performed very well, so far this season but Lille are an extremely strong side with, as mentioned, a very impressive defensive record and they now face a Le Havre side that have been limited throughout the campaign going forward. As a result, Lille winning with a clean sheet would appear a good value bet for this one.

TIP: LILLE TO WIN TO NIL
