A second successive Ligue 1 victory for Rennes in midweek saw them firmly planted within the European places at least temporarily after beating high flyers Marseille 2-1. They now have a chance to make it three wins in the space of eight days as they travel to Lorient. The hosts are struggling inside of the relegation places, having lost ten of their 15 league games so far this season, the joint most in Ligue 1. Despite being away from home, it’s hard to see anything other than a Rennes win here, with the visitors on a high and containing more than enough quality within their squad to be able to put ‘Les Merlus’ to the sword.
