THE PREDICTION
Iran’s disappointing qualifying campaign must get back on track with a victory in this one. They are in serious danger of missing out on the top two and, as one of the strongest AFC sides, that would be a travesty for the home team. They come up against a Bahrain side that are top of their group and remain unbeaten with a steady three wins and three draws in their six group stage matches. Iran’s goal difference could be important in such a tight group alongside these two and Iraq, and their 14-0 win over Cambodia could be huge for that. However, given the stubbornness of the Bahraini side, a draw could be on the cards given that the group leaders have conceded just one goal.
