THE PREDICTION
Southampton are currently enjoying the heights of sixth in the Premier League after their outstanding 1-0 victory over reigning champions Liverpool last time out. The Saints now turn their attention to cup action as they host League One side Shrewsbury. The FA Cup is very much a competition Southampton could look at targeting considering they don’t have a relegation battle on the horizon. Ralph Hasenhuttl’s men are full of confidence and boast a clutch of talented younger players more than ready to step in should the Austrian wish to rest a couple of players. Whatever Hasenhuttl decides, his side should be able to get past Shrewsbury, although Steve Cotterill has led somewhat of a revival since joining the club. Ultimately though, this will likely prove a challenge too far, with the hosts coming out on top by at least two goals.
